Our Services Include
Consultation on designs for new build surface beds.
With over 100 years of combined experience in the Specialist Concrete Flooring Sector, we are able to assist Structural Engineers in finalising their design for the surface beds; which are a vital element of the building structure. We are able to draw from our experience to provide guidance in the design and specifications of the floor construction.
Budget Preparations
Having been involved with well over 300 projects to date, we can assist clients and their professional team in carrying out feasibility studies for potential projects. This can entail the drawing up of preliminary designs for various construction types and the preparation of budgets for each option. This allows the client to ensure they are meeting the end users’ requirements as well as the financial return required from the project.
Specialist on grade slab construction
Premier Concrete Floors has extensive experience in the construction of the following concrete floors:
Conventional jointed surface bed and hardstands
Post-tensioned surface bed
Conventionally reinforced surface beds and hardstands
Overlay floors on top of existing concrete floors.
- These floors are generic type floors which are cast in large panels and saw cut into smaller panels to control cracking.
Post-tensioned surface bed
- We believe this system is the only true "Jointless Floor" solution on the market today. The absence of joints in the surface bed ensures that negligible maintenance will be required over its life cycle. This type of surface bed is beneficial where future maintenance may be difficult or impossible to undertake. A further advantage of this floor construction is that it is able to cater for poor ground conditions by spanning over areas of concern in the sub-grade layers.
- These floors are cast in large panels with the steel cables passing continuously through adjacent panels making it a continuously reinforced floor. A significant advantage to the cables being continuous between the panels is that it mitigates the risk of joint edge curling which is a major concern for all conventional and less jointed floor types. Should the client choose a bonded system the cables would be grouted which would eliminate the risk of damage during the fitout process as well as provide the end user with ultimate flexibility.
Conventionally reinforced surface beds and hardstands
- These floors are similar in nature to steel fibre reinforced surface beds, in that they are cast in large panels with armoured construction joints. They differ in that they rely on either steel or mesh reinforcement to control cracking. The large panel design, and absence of saw cut joints, reduce the overall future maintenance cost of the floor.
Overlay floors on top of existing concrete floors.
- This type of floor as the name states, are constructed on top of existing floors. They can be either bonded to the existing concrete or unbonded and allowed to move freely. These are constructed where the existing floors have deteriorated beyond a repairable state, yet avoiding the cost of removing them.
- Our work is completed in line with the strict specifications provided by the Engineers associated with the project and are surveyed by a third party to confirm compliance with the required floor tolerance.
Remedial / Regeneration works
With many of our clients choosing to add existing buildings to their portfolios as well as constructing bespoke new builds, we provide a complete turnkey service to ascertain and carry out all the remedial and regeneration works required to bring the facility to their level of quality required.
Maintenance
We offer a maintenance service on completed works to provide peace of mind for clients and their tenants. By signing a Service Level agreement with us, the landlord / owner is provided the assurance that their investment is maintained to the correct standard. This will avoid the high cost of remedial work required, should their facility be vacated for a new tenant.
